Nearly 2,700 students had their degrees conferred across two ceremonies on Saturday, December 16, 2023. These are their photos.
It's nearly impossible to narrow down, select and "favorite" images taken during graduation ceremonies at West Virginia University. These students have spent two or more years in Morgantown, W.Va., learning, growing, experiencing and preparing for life after college.
We, as a photo team, have spent that same time documenting their lives, experiences, classes, activities and more. We've gotten to know a lot of them. We've spent time with them. We've shared moments and we've frozen others in time.
So, when it comes time to reminisce over that time and document these Mountaineers for a final time as students, choosing 50-or-so images to show from the day feels more like a chore than a reward for that time.
As the saying goes, though ... "Once a Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer" ... So, this is less of a "goodbye" and more of a "thanks for the memories, and we'll see you soon."
